1000 MILLIVOLT PASSIVE BASS POWER
The general average output of passive P and J pickups is ard. 300mV, while benchmark "hot" and active pickups generate ard. 700mV. BITE basses carry proprietary passive BITE pickups generating 1000mV of clearly defined output that "bites" through the mix.
Why does high output matter? Our product development tests with bass professionals and students at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna distinctly confirmed that articulate audibility is the single most tonal concern of professional bass players.
Unlike active high-output pickups, which require a 9-volt battery block on board the bass, BITE pickups are purely passive: no battery, fail-safe and no doctoring with the bass signal.

Our bodies have up to 7 ultra-thin layers of paint with elaborate intermediate sandings, our fret ends are de-tanged, meaning we clip fret "roots" so that you don't see nor feel them on our fretboard edges, we level fretboards AND frets to eliminate any fret buzz, we install only first-rate hardware and much more.
Our manufacturing team comprises 2 luthiers who graduated from the 4-year full-time luthiery school in Hallstatt, Austria, plus a former piano maker from Bösendorfer (Yamaha group).
Our luthiers are themselves professional musicians or sound engineers.
Quality Control at BITE is on a whole 'nother level. Each bass gets our full attention, three days rest before dispatch with two QC rounds following a multipage checklist and the 4-eyes-principle, and is test-driven by a bass pro from Music University.
Our QC checklist contains 58 items which are checked off on each bass. Target parameters and tolerances are set in decimillimeters.
